Bible Note Quote: "Here I am, like Moses, but much less worthy, on the "backside of the dessert" as it were, and while peering across the apparently barren landscape of my life there is a burning bush that captures my attention and my heart. The fire of the bush corresponds with the fire in my heart and I cannot help but follow... The fire still burns!"
quote from The Fire of God's Word Still Burns! ~ ~ (see former quotes here: Bible Note Quote Archives)

Letter on the Passing of C. Helen Mooshian (February 2003)

The following I posted to the Bible Notes subscriber list, because to many of the people I have known, C. Helen Mooshian was a dear saint and missionary.
Note: I removed the pastor's phone number (for privacy).

Sr. C. Helen Mooshian has left this world for another. The following note from her pastor may be of interest to many:

"Dear Friends,
We want to thank each and everyone of you for the cards, notes, and emails that you sent to C. Helen in her last days. Not one of them went unnoticed. She brightened at every day mail call and wanted to respond to every letter. Of course you were aware that was not possible for her to do but, she was thinking of you.
I am writing to let you know when and where her funeral services are going to be:

    Viewing Wednesday February 19 6-8pm
Funeral Thursday February 20 2:00 pm

     Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church
           6600 Steiner Drive
           Sacramento, CA. 95823
           916-395-8365

From all of us here at the Sacramento Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist church there is a very warm welcome for you to come to this dear saint's final church service. We will do everything in our power to make your stay comfortable and inexpensive. Sister Mooshian has asked me as her pastor to preach the funeral but, also welcomed any appropriate remarks from those present. I would be delighted If you would be able to attend and contribute in this way to the service. I would ask you to please respond so that I can arrange the service properly. If you are not able to attend we will be taping the service and will gladly make the tape available to you.
I am including my phone number so that you will be able to contact us with any questions. Please do not hesitate to call. Thank you and God Bless you.

Below is a letter concerning her last days on earth.

Dear Fellow Christian,
Many of you know or have heard of C. Helen Mooshian. I am her pastorin Sacramento,California. This week my wife and I took her to her doctor for the results of her recent tests. The news was simple:advanced lung cancer, stage 3b-4. She was definitely taken aback but immediately replied "Well Amen! I'm ready to go now!" I was honored to have been there.
As we were leaving the hospital happened upon a woman who has recently given up her Christian walk. C. Helen immediately told her "Honey the doctor says I've got cancer and six months to live, I'm going to see Jesus and I want you to do the same." We left the woman fighting tears. I asked C. Helen what she wanted to say about the her situation and here is her response.
The doctor has said 6 months or less - we will wait and see what God says-Praise God!!! Glory Hallelujah!!!!"
I feel that she has accepted the news completely but, she is suffering from shortness of breath, pain in her lungs and leg. She is also nauseated quite often. I know that she appreciates your prayers.
One last note, she has reached the point that letters are starting to go unanswered. We will try to respond to any e-mail we receive concerning her.

Jason T. Corbin
