Roll Call in the Believer's Heart
Roll Call in the Believer's Heart!
As I was driving away from work this evening and thinking about what God might have me to testify about on Sunday which could help others, this thought came to me...
IF we are truly born again, having been truly delivered from our sins by Jesus Christ, AND IF we are walking with Him in the light as He is in the light, then we have MUCH to be thankful for, because most of the people in the world are NOT experiencing this most splendid reality in their lives!
Then, I thought of how we know this is so...
The idea of a divine roll call presented itself.
I began to imagine the believer testifying to this reality and then Jesus Christ Himself testifies within the believer's heart, "Here I am!" Then, the Heavenly Father, Whom Jesus said would also come to the believer, testifies within "I am here too!"
Then, last but not least, the Holy Spirit, Who reveals the Son and the Father to the believer, He also testifies, "I am here!" Jesus said that the Holy Spirit did NOT come to testify of Himself, but that He would teach us all things which Jesus taught. And yet, the very witness of the Holy Spirit right there in the depths of the believer's heart is also a witness to the reality of the Spirit's presence.
Just then, while driving down the road, I felt the Holy Spirit say within my own heart, "I am here!". I cannot explain the depths of love, joy, and peace that the fullness of His presence brings. I cannot tell all the glorious reality of His abiding presence! I have sometimes heard it said "It is better felt than telt", but oh how I must try to tell it. "O taste and see that the Lord is good!"
"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." (Psalm 34:1-8)
